9th Annual WERC's First Impressions Second Chances Networking Event
This is an exceptional evening of shopping, food, drinks, and networking to benefit the women of the Capital District Women’s Employment & Resource Center (WERC). The ticket price includes a fabulous networking opportunity, fantastic buffet and vendors selling handbags, jewelry, clothing, and accessories. Incredible prizes will be raffled off to raise additional funds. Donations are encouraged and appreciated. These could include clothing, accessories, and gift cards which will be utilized by the women in WERC’s Training Program. Clothing and accessories will be donated to Great Finds to distribute to the women of WERC. Great Finds is a thrift store owned and operated by Equinox, a local, non-profit agency, offering vouchers for free clothing to non-profit organizations that provide support to women in need.

Albany Pro Musica concert: The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace
Join Albany Pro Musica for The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace on Saturday, May 6 at EMPAC. Accompanied by a compelling film, APM’s Masterworks Chorus, Orchestra Pro Musica, Mezzo-Soprano Lucille Beer, and the Capital District Youth Chorale will join forces for this performance of Karl Jenkins' stunning masterwork. The Armed Man outlines the growing menace of war, interspersed with moments of reflection, and ends with the hope for peace. The concert is the culmination of a three-week-long Capital Region-wide series of art exhibitions, lectures, films and other events around the theme of reconciliation and peace.
